PERKINS SELECTED TO ALL-STATE TEAM

(04/08/2005)
CHS basketball player Jake Perkins has been named to the "2nd Team All State" recently. He was also selected by the sports writers to the All-Mid-Ohio Valley Small Schools Basketball Team. The CHS senior was recognized by the Parkersburg News for his acomplishments:

"Calhoun County hardly set the West Virginia basketball world on its ear this season, but that wasn't Jake Perkins fault. The 6-foot-3 senior certainly did his part for the Red Devils. Perkins led CCHS in nearly every offensive category, averaging 19.4 points, 11.6 rebounds, 4.1 steals and two blocks per game."

"Perkins' success this season should come as no surprise. After all, he averaged a double-double last season (17 points and 11 rebounds) as the Red Devils made the state tournament for the first time in school history."
