LANHAM CONVICTED OF 1ST DEGREE MURDER IN RITCHIE

(04/06/2005)
A Ritchie County man has been convicted of first-degree murder in a fatal shooting.

Prosecutors say Brusie Lanham, 59, of Pennsboro shot Barry Moore in the arm last May, then shot and killed Jon Broadwater of West Union. The shootings occurred at Moore's home in Pennsboro.

The Ritchie County Circuit Court jury recommended no mercy yesterday for 59-year-old Brusie Lanham of Pennsboro.

That means he could be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

Lanham was also convicted of burglary and unlawful assault.

Sentencing is set for June.
