WET WEATHER SLIP DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO DWELLING

(03/30/2005)

Wet weather has led to a giant slip on Town Hill along Rt. 16 just north of Grantsville. The slip covers most of the hillside in front of the residence of Denver and Paula Roberts.

Ms. Roberts said hopefully the house is on solid rock, but the slip seems dangerously close to the dwelling.

"We're pretty sure the house is on a good bed, but you're never sure," she said. "We hope that it will quit raining and work can be done on the problem."
