TRUCK CRASHES OVER EMBANKMENT - Pair Escape Injury

(05/23/2001)
Amos Walker said he swerved his S-10 Chevy truck to avoid hitting a deer on the Mt. Zion Ridge, shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Walker's vehicle was traveling north on Route 16 near the Mt. Zion Post Office when it left the rain slick road, clipped a tree and went over an embankment.

Neither Walker nor a passenger, Jason Valdez, received injuries. The truck was heavily damaged. Calhoun EMS responded along with Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee.
