Warter Goodrich, 57, of Normantown, formerly of Calhoun

Warter Goodrich, 57, of Normantown, W.Va., departed this life at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Feb. 27, 1947, in Calhoun County, a son of the late Ottie and Birtie Parson Goodrich. He was a self-employed timberman and a baptist by faith.

Mr. Goodrich was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Clemons Goodrich on Oct. 15, 1965, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Darren Goodrich and wife, Robin, and Steven George Goodrich and wife, Jessica, all of Normantown; five grandchildren, Darren Goodrich Jr., Tiffany Goodrich and Dakota Goodrich, all of Burnsville, W.Va., and Chelsea Goodrich and Trayton Goodrich, both of Normantown; and two sisters, Betty Lamp of Barberton, Ohio, and Jean Steele of Normantown.

Mr. Goodrich was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Dale Goodrich; and one sister, Etta Furr.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville, with Pastor Earl Cayton, Pastor Roger Carter and Pastor Robert Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Warter Goodrich Family Cemetery, Normantown. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
