SNOW ARRIVED IN MEASURABLE INCHES

(02/25/2005)

For those in sunny climates, the white stuff arrived in measurable inches

Herald readers keep requesting snow pictures. There has been little snow, so far this winter, but yesterday it came down, six inches recorded in downtown Hur.

"Out of the bosom of the air, Out of the cloud-folds of her garments shaken, Over the woodlands brown and bare, Over the harvest-fields forsaken, silent, and soft, and slow descends the snow." - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"Big Head Fred" enjoyed the snow, jumping and running most of the day, with frozen flakes attached to his winter coat

Flocks of cardinals and sundry other birds hovered close to the feeder, not worried about digging through the snow to find a snippet to eat
