(Extracted from Board Minutes) The Calhoun County Board of Education met Monday evening at Mt. Zion. Superintendent Ron Blankenship gave a legislative update and reported on the sixth month attendance data. Emilio Garza gave a report on Calhoun Middle/High School. The Medication Policy was amended and placed out for comment. Volunteer Agreement - Wavalene McCoy; Student Transfer Requests - Talonne Mefford (grade 11) and Dillon Mefford (grade 6) from Calhoun County to Ritchie County; Out of State Conference Request - Robert Bonar - April 21-23 for the National Council of History Educators Conference; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Out of State Transportation Request - Roscoe Gainer - Washington State Community College; Marietta, Ohio on March 7; a draft regarding Graduation Policy. The board went into a executive session to discuss personnel matters for about 30 minutes. Retirement or resignations were approved for Chad Bartlett, Lijiah Heiney, Michael McCartney and Susan Pitts. A job posting was issued for Instructional Technology Coordinator. Lakin Board - Substitute Teacher Financial matters were approved. The board discussed block scheduling, paper towels and student recognition. The next special meeting is scheduled for March 7 at the Pleasant Hill School.
