June Hudson, 76, - Elizabeth

June Hudson, 76, of Elizabeth passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 15, 2005.

Born in Spencer, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Nina Carpenter Henthorne. She was a member of the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. She was a bookkeeper, employed by Glen Roberts Enterprises for a number of years, was secretary for Attorney Louis Reed, was circuit clerk of Wirt County and was owner of Hudson Lunch of Elizabeth. She was past treasurer of Wirt County Emergency Squad and was an assistant at Reed-Sturm Insurance Agency. She was active in Daughter of American Pioneer, the Beauchamp Cemetery restoration and the Elizabeth Beauchamp-Newman Museum.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Warren Hudson; children, Iris Hudson Smith (Larry) of Morgantown, Midge Hudson Thorn (Rick) of Sutton and Pete (Rachel) Hudson of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Evan and Colin Thorn and Jack Warren Hudson; half brothers, Joe and John Nutter; and a half sister, Virginia Garnar, all of Florida. She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by a daughter, Sandra Marie; and two brothers, James L. and Kenneth Henthorne.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Matheny Pomroy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Bruce and the Rev. Harold Francis officiating. Burial will be in the K of P Cemetery. Friends may call Friday prior to service.
