UP, UP AND AWAY - Gasoline Prices Continue To Rise

(02/18/2005)
West Virginians are now paying about 25 cents more for a gallon of regular gasoline than they paid last year.

AAA says the average price yesterday was $1.94, but in several rural counties it was $2 and up.

That's compared with $1.68 a year ago.

West Virginia's prices have increased about seven cents in just the past month.

Experts say gasoline prices will continue to rise due to a rising demand for fuel and the higher price of crude oil, from which gasoline is refined.
