GLADYS WHIPKEY

Gladys Whipkey, 91, of White Pine, died May 21st in Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center. Born at White Pine on October 23, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Della Grimm Kelley. She was a long-time member of the Cherry Fork United Brethren Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Edna Carroll Whipkey and Mary L. Nichols, both of Grantsville; sons, Rev. Kenneth Whipkey of Smithville and Francis Whipkey of Belpre, Ohio; brother, Donald Kelly of Grantsville; sisters, Genevieve Ward, Geraldine Kelley and Jean Miller, all of Grantsville.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Whipkey, Sr.; two brothers, Virgil Kelley and Blendon Kelley; sister, Caroline Barr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Alfred Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Kight Cemetery, Cherry Fork.

Friends may call from 12:00 noon Wednesday until the hour of service. Family and friends will be received at the Cherry Fork Church after the interment.
