STABBING SUSPECT IN CUSTODY - The suspect in a fatal stabbing in Logan County is in custody. Joshua Stowers, 27, has been arrested in the death of 35-year-old Joseph Dingess.

Dingess was dead upon arrival at an area hospital. State Police wouldn't reveal the relationship between the two Big Creek men or a possible motive.

LOGAN WOMAN'S BODY FOUND - Logan Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in her apartment yesterday. A friend found the body of Sandra Dempsey, who is in her 60s. Authorities say the death is suspicious.

The body has been sent to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death.

JACKSON MAN ARRESTED IN STABBING - A Jackson County man is in jail and another was in the hospital after a family squabble led to a stabbing.

Larry Landis, 57, was in the kitchen of his Ripley apartment when he and his son-in-law, James Edmondson, began arguing, according to Ripley Police.

Police say Landis grabbed a folding pocketknife off the table and stabbed Edmondson in the stomach.

Landis was charged with malicious wounding and brandishing a weapon. He was being held at South Central Regional Jail. Bond was set at $15,000.

HOLD-UP AT CHARLESTON CONVENIENCE STORE - Charleston police are seeking a suspect in West Side convenience store robbery.

A female clerk told police a man entered the Neighbormart,and asked for change. The clerk went to retrieve a cash box, and when she came back in the store's front room, the man became angry and demanded money, police said.
