Orla Elmina "Granny" Marks, 81 - Millstone

Orla Elmina "Granny" Marks, 81, of Millstone, West Virginia, died February 6, 2005 at Miletree Health Care Center, Spencer, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born August 25, 1923 at Millstone a daughter of the late David Cleo and Orpha Mae Schoolcraft Poling.

Surviving Granny are her daughter, Betty Goff of Millstone; seven sons, Ernest "Ed" and wife Audra of Orma, Olin "Dean" and wife Sandra "Sam" of Arnoldsburg, Joe Bee of Millstone, Steve "Arbuckle" of Sidney, Nebraska, Jack and wife Janet of Arnoldsburg, Rick of Millstone, and Danny "Nub" of Grantsville; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Mabel Marks of Grantsville; and brothers, Junior and Guy Poling both of Millstone; Aunt Beulah Mace of Sand Ridge; and her family of caregivers at Miletree who provided her with tender loving care.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Junior Wilson; daughter, Patty Sue; grandson, Robert Dean "Robbie"; granddaughter, Dena Diane; sisters, Murl Hall and Ernestine Gregory: and her former husband, Alfred "Fuzzy" Marks.

Granny was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother and enjoyed family time above everything else. She liked gardening, especially her flowers. She was a member of Albert's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 11 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Carl Marks will officiate. Interment will be in the Poling-Marks Cemetery at Millstone.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
