WV RESIDENTS MAY VOTE ON CAPITOL DOME DESIGN

Governor Joe Manchin has announced that West Virginians may vote on what the design of the state Capitol dome.

The governor is asking state residents to vote on one of two future design options. Option A is to restore the original 1932 design as envisioned by Cass Gilbert, the famous architect who designed the Capitol. It alternated gold leaf with gray.

Option B would be to keep the all-gold design that's been on the dome since 1988.

The voting ends Friday, February 11, the tally will be considered in the selection of a final design.
