ARNOLDSBURG RD. HOUSE DESTROYED BY FIRE - May Family Homeless

Fire trucks pumped water across creek to house Fire completely destroyed an Arnoldsburg Rd. house last night along U. S. 33-119, a short distance from the Calhoun-Roane line. Gregory May, his wife and two children were apparently away from their residence at 2370 Arnoldsburg Rd. when the fire erupted. Neighbors called 911 and the Spencer-Roane VFD quickly responded to the blaze at 7 p.m. There was a problem getting fire trucks close to the residence because of a creek. Neighbors referred to the structure as the "old Bowers homestead," but May had lived their for three or four years. House was completely in flames ... ... when neighbors called 911
