PARSONS PLEADS NOT GUILTY IN MALICIOUS WOUNDING OF CHILD

(01/26/2005)

Adam Parsons and attorney Greta Davis

Grantsville resident Adam Parsons, 24, pled not guilty in the malicious wounding of a six-year-old Mt, Zion boy and his four-year-old twin brothers.

Parsons, accompanied by his attorney Greta Davis, entered his plea yesterday during an arraignment before Judge Thomas Evans III. Parsons has been indicted by a Calhoun Grand Jury.

Hearings were scheduled for pre-trial motions.

Parsons has been accused of the "serious wounding and abuse" of the children while they were left in his care.

Authorities said the six-year-old was allegedly struck on the head numerous times by a broom and knife handle, causing multiple wounds. His head was reportedly swollen and his eyes swollen shut. The four-year-old twins had some injuries to the head, but not as serious.

He is being held in Central Regional Jail.
