Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was a daughter of Frank and Loretta Heffernan Lauria.

Surviving are her husband, Louis Hanes and 3 children, Chip Hanes and Kelly Hanes of Grantsville and Robert Hanes of New York and 2 grandchildren.

Graveside rites were held January 17, 2005 at the Hanes Family Cemetery, Grantsville. Rev. Rick Metheney and Rev. Tim Hickman officiated.

Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville was in charge of arrangements.
