The Little Kanawha Longbeards, a local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, recently bought and donated 100 turkey breasts to families in Calhoun and Gilmer counties.
The annual donations are an event of the Turkey Hunters Care Program. Helping with the distribution was Community Resources Inc. of Calhoun and Gilmer County.
Also receiving donations were the Long Term Care Unit of MHHCC and Sunbridge Nursing Home which used the turkey breast to help feed the residents and their families Thanksgiving dinner.
