Clyde S. Moore, 80 - Looneyville

Clyde S. Moore, 80, of Looneyville, WV, died Thursday, January 6, 2005, at home.

He was born September 29, 1924, at Welford, WV, a son of the late Lewis and Bessie Smith Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Cobb, Evelyn Boring, Bertha Abbott, and Lucy Ennis; and two brothers, Herbert Moore and Richard Moore.

He was retired from Columbia Gas with 39 years of service. He was a WW II Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #61, Clendenin, WV, and a member of the Newton Baptist Church, Newton, WV.

Survivors include Katherine, his wife of 56 years; three sons Roger (Betty), Steve (Freda), and Wayne; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, WV, with the Rev. J. Herbert Smith officiating. Burial, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #61, will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
