Donald V. "Jim" Postalwait, of Spencer, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at his home, after an extended illness. "Jim" was a wonderful husband, devoted father to his daughters, a loving and giving grandfather to his grandchildren. He was the retired 30-year owner of Don's Used Cars, Spencer, and a member of the Spencer Baptist Temple. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rosalie Furr Postalwait of Spencer; daughters, Vikki (Jim) Nichols of Evans and Jill (Steve) Showen of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Jeramy (Monica) Nichols of Danville, VA, Allison (Philip) Watkins of Crown City, OH and Kristopher (Andrea) Showen of Chesnee, SC; two great grandchildren and one expected great grandchild (in June). A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spencer Baptist Temple, Spencer, with Pastor Smith Epling officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, from 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
