MAN SHOOTS AND RUNS OVER DOG - A 19-year-old Harrison County man has been charged with animal cruelty for shooting and running over a dog. David L. Marple of Lost Creek shot the dog several times, then ran over it with his ATV, and then continued shooting it several more times.

He has been indicted on a felony charge, but he was also charged with two counts of forgery and two counts of uttering in a separate case.

CHARLESTON SHOOTER ENTERS PLEA - Eighteen-year-old David Booker pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter this week as part of a plea agreement. He faces three to 15 years related to the murder of Donald Williams, 37, at a Charleston housing complex in 2003.

DODDRIDGE WOMAN STABBED TO DEATH BY PARING KNIFE - A Doddridge County woman accused of stabbing her aunt to death has been charged with first degree murder. Ella DeMastus, 69, of Lower Arnold's Creek near West Union was murdered this week at her mobile home. Christina DeMastus, 30, also of Lower Arnold's Creek, is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.

The victim had two stab wounds to her abdomen and one to her hand, the instrument being a kitchen paring knife. Police found the woman lying in the front yard.
