Patricia Ann "Pat" Shimp, 50 - Leroy

Patricia Ann "Pat" Shimp, 50, of Leroy, died Monday, January 3, 2004, in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.

She was born October 14, 1954, in Huntington, a daughter of Nina L. Truman Sanchez of Reedy and the late Nathan T. Sanchez.

Pat was the owner and operator of the Reedy Grocery, Reedy and secretary/treasurer of Shimp's Heating and Cooling, Leroy. She was a member of the Roane County Chamber of Commerce and the V.F.W. Post 3488 Ladies Auxiliary, Sandyville. She was the "Reach to Recovery" representative for the ACS in Roane County and was the team leader for the Reedy Racers "Relay-for-Life" team. Also, she was a member of the Spencer Church of the Nazarene and attended the Liverpool United Methodist Church.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, Ray Shimp; daughters and son-in-law, April Raynee and Jamison Reynolds of Bunker Hill, Jessica Brooke Shimp, Megan Beth Shimp, Kathryn Elizabeth Shimp and Emily Paige Shimp all of Leroy; brother, Lester Dean Sanchez of Salado, TX; sister, Annette S. Stover of Sandyville; maternal grandmother, Ruby Truman of Spencer.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January 6 at 1:00 p.m. in the Spencer Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Chuck Leisure and Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Liverpool Cemetery, Liverpool.

Friends may call at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church one hour before the funeral.
