CALHOUN'S TOBACCO COALITION HAS BEEN ACTIVE - Encourages Attendance At Regulatory Meeting Jan. 10th

(12/31/2004)
The Calhoun Tobacco Coalition held it's regular meeting on December 13. The Coalition is very active in the community and has been participating in several outreach programs.

November was a busy month for the members of the coalition, participating in the Calhoun County Committee on Aging Health Fair with a display board. On November 18th, members promoted the Great American Smoke-Out in the community and schools.

A hot issue with the Coalition is the Clean Indoor Regulation which is coming up for vote in January.

On November 11th, the Tobacco Coalition hosted an open forum for business to discuss the regulations and the possible ramifications for private business owners.

The Coalition encourages all business owners to attend the Open Forum at Arnoldsburg Community Building on Monday, January 10th from 6-8 p.m.

The RAZE group remains active in the school with Carlene Frederick as the Coordinator. The group is putting together a Teens Against Tobacco Use training. Keep an eye out for the dates of the training.

The Tobacco Coalition meets the first Monday of every month following the Family Resource Network meeting.

The next meeting is January 3rd. The meetings start at 11 a.m. and are at the FRN office below J & B Drug Store. For more information, please contact Barb McKown at 354-6144.
