The man was shot with a .45-caliber handgun near the Breck Garden Apartments.

MAN STICKS-UP NITRO EXXON - David Joseph Bentz, 47, of Cross Lanes Drive, allegedly walked into an Exxon station in Nitro, brandished a weapon and demanded money.

The clerk tripped a silent alarm and when police arrived on scene, they saw Bentz walking across the parking lot. They searched him and found a bag containing a large amount of money.

He was charged with aggravated robbery and taken to Western Regional Jail in Barboursville.

PUTNAM STABBING - Deputies have issued an arrest warrant for a Cross Lanes man who allegedly stabbed his daughter's ex-boyfriend on Christmas Eve.

Anthony Dwain Adkins allegedly stabbed Anthony Douglas Page in the chest at a trailer park in Poca.

Page was apparently stabbed after his ex-girlfriend, Savanna Shaver, allegedly tried to run him over with a van.

Page told police that he jumped onto the van's hood and rode more than 100 yards until she stopped the vehicle and threw him off.

Adkins, who was dressed in camo, was allegedly waiting nearby and holding a knife.

A female witness told police that Adkins showed her a bloody knife, saying "nobody touches his little girl."

Page is in CAMC.

Adkins will face felony charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and malicious wounding.
