Sherwood C. Siers, 89, of Fayetteville passed away Dec. 16, 2004, at the VA Medical Center, Beckley. Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late James L. and Alice Butler Siers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Union Carbide Metals, Alloy. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Knotts Siers; two sisters, Nell Jarvis of Spencer and Verba King of Akron, Ohio; and two brothers, Shirley Siers of Charleston and Ray Siers of Chloe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Nelsie Parsons, Orma Criss, Hazel Kraigbaum and Ruth Brown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with the Rev. Daniel Sears and the Rev. L.T. Jordan officiating. Interment will be in Minnora Cemetery, Minnora. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, and one hour prior to service at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg.
