A Burning Springs resident Richard Lawson, 50, has been sentenced on drug charges in U. S. District Court, although he remains at large.

Lawson was sentenced to nearly 22 years in prison, after being indicted in August, 2003.

Authorities raided three Wirt County locations in 2002, including Lawson's house just off State Route 5 at Burning Springs.

State Police, members of a narcotics task force and the Wirt County Sheriff, reported a working methamphetamine lab.

They seized the lab - tablets, chemicals, match boxes, iodine and other items used to manufacture meth. They found 1,150 pseudoepherdrine tablets in Lawson's possession.

The U. S. Marshal is looking for Lawson. They can be reached at 304-347-5136.
