WV GETS "A" FOR MOUNTAIN BIKE RACING

(12/14/2004)
The IMBA's 2004 Mountain Bike Report Card scored West Virginia as the only state in the US with an "A" rating.

The rating was based upon the West Virginia Mountain Bike Association's (WVMBA) proactive stance, which balances trail work, racing, and biking, and the fact that the WV Department of Tourism and the Governor have steadfastly shown support for the sport of Mountain Biking in West Virginia.

Calhoun is the site for the Appalachian Bike Race.

Last week, WVMBA decided to split their regular 16 race Point Series into smaller Spring and Fall Point Race Series - each series will have 7 to 9 races. For more information check the WVMBA web site www.wvmba.com
