GREATHOUSE INJURED ON SLIPPERY ROAD - Extracted With Jaws Of Life

(05/12/2001)
UPDATE 10:30 AM - The Jaws of Life was used Saturday morning to extract a Grantsville area woman from a single car accident on Route 5 at Nighcut Hill, west of Grantsville.

Brenda Greathouse of Rt. 1 received multiple injuries after her Ford Tarus rolled over landing back on its wheels, according to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department. Sheriff Allen Parsons is investigating the accident, which occurred at 9:15 a.m.

Greathouse was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS, with the extent of her injuries unknown.

"The road was slippery after the light rain," according to Assistant Fire Chief Dave Johnson. "We had to remove both doors and the center post on the driver's side."

The GVFD dispatched a rescue truck and a pumper to the scene.
