Dixie Jean O'Dell Keaton, 56 - Amma

Dixie Jean O'Dell Keaton, 56, of Amma, West Virginia, died Tuesday, November 30, 2004, in the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston after a short illness.

She was born August 7, 1948, in Charleston, the daughter of the late Harvey Milton and Dixie Jarvis O'Dell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eric D. Keaton; a daughter, Melissa M. Keaton; and a brother, Harvey Douglas O'Dell.

Mrs. Keaton was a homemaker, contract bus driver for the Roane County Board of Education, with 23 years of service, a 1968 graduate of Spencer High School and a Methodist.

Survivors include her husband, Garry D. Keaton; daughter and son-in-law, Lori L. and Rick Rucker of Amma; a granddaughter, Leeanna J. Rucker; sister-in-law, Joyce O'Dell of Palestine; nieces, Vicki Brown of Tallmadge, OH and Cindy Carper of Palestine.

The funeral service will be Friday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Wayne McGlothlin officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Point Cemetery, Newton.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday.
