(11/26/2004)
WEST SIDE DANGEROUS PLACE - Charleston's West Side continues to be a dangerous place.

The West Side's third shooting this month has resulted in the death of an Institute man.

Residents of the area continue to complain, saying enough is enough.

Neal Aaron Brown, 40, was shot Monday night while sitting in his vehicle, according to Charleston Police.

Police say someone fired several shots into the car, with at least one round striking Brown.

After he was shot, Brown drove down the street, hit a curb and crashed into another vehicle. He was found slumped over on the passenger seat. Brown was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

KANAWHA MOTEL ROBBED - A man carrying a handgun held-up a Kanawha City motel early Thursday.

A clerk at the Ivy Terrace Motel told police a man came in about 3 a.m. and pulled out the weapon and demanded money.

The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured.

Police are not yet sure if the robbery is connected to a Wednesday evening robbery just a few blocks away at the One Stop Marathon gas station.
