The Hometown Holiday Christmas Parade sponsored by the Roane County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Spencer will be held on Friday, December 3rd at 6 p.m.
Line-up will begin at 5:15 p.m. at Wal-Mart parking plaza.
Five cash prizes will be given out for best parade entries in the amounts of $100, $75, $50, $25 and $10. Parade applications will be available at the Chamber of Commerce Office, City of Spencer Municipal Building or by calling 927-1780, 927-1640 or 927-1400.
Several groups will perform Christmas music before and after the parade around the Courthouse Square. For Groups interested in singing carols please call the Chamber of Commerce Office at 927-1780 or 927-1400.
Spencer Lion's Club will sponsor a craft show and concessions at the Heritage Park Community Building beginning at 10 a.m. Antique Pictures will also be available, by appointments only and can be made by calling Family Resource Network at 927-6070.
A new attraction this year - following the parade, come visit Santa Claus in Roane County Committee on Aging's Christmas Village located at Court Street Gallery (former NAPA Building). Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available to all. Photographs with Santa will be available for purchase.
There will also be a special drawing for children 12 and under - two 4' Christmas Stockings filled with toys (valued at $100 each) will be drawn for one lucky boy and girl. Entry forms will be located at participating local Chamber members' businesses as well as the Chamber of Commerce Office and the City of Spencer Municipal Building.
To help kick off the Christmas Season participating local retailers will be staying open late with special offers for shoppers this special evening.
