Donzel Gene Bowers, 70 - Arnoldsburg

Donzel Gene Bowers, 70, of Arnoldsburg, West Virginia died October 18, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg after an extended illness.

He was born March 26, 1934 in Calhoun County, WV, a son of the late Ray W. and Hazel McKown Bowers. He was retired from Spencer State Hospital after 35 years service. He was Baptist by faith, loved fishing, hunting and reunions, and was a member of the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Mace Bowers, one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon A. and Paul D. Richards of Spencer, WV; one son ans daughter-in-law, Gary G. and Debra K. Bowers of Spencer; one brother, Allen Bowers of Spencer; and one granddaughter and her husband, Angela and Philip Dever of Walton, WV.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Elladean Kiser and one brother, Harold Glennis Bower.

Service 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Slate-Bowers Cemetery, Spencer. Visitation two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
