THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD STUMPTOWN BOY KILLS BEAR

(10/18/2004)

Thirteen-year-old Brian Ethan See got a hunting surprise on the first day of bow season for deer.

Young Ethan ventured out Saturday on Lems Run at Stumptown with visions of hunting deer with his bow.

But to he and his family's surprise, instead of bagging a buck, this young boy was lucky enough to kill his first bear.

It was the first bear ever checked in at Sears Exxon at Stumptown and the first bear killed in the Lems Run area.

It was a one and one-half to two-year-old old female weighing in at nearly 300 pounds.

Ethan is a 7th grader at Gilmer County High School. His parents are Brian See of Clarksburg and Loretta See of Stumptown. His parents are going to have his trophy kill mounted.
