ALLEGED BEATING VICTIM'S FUNERAL TODAY

Funeral services are scheduled at 4 p.m. today at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer for Jason Coon, 25. Coon died Tuesday following an altercation at a Spencer trailer park. Coon's longtime acquaintance Daniel Kelly, 22, has been charged with his death. He is survived by his parents, Ewell Gay and Virginia Lee Coon of Spencer. He was a graduate of Roane County High School with the class of 1998 and was employed by SR Kozy Construction in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of Local Union 1353 in Charleston. He is survived by six sisters, Debra Coon of Glenville; Lisa Coon of Parkersburg; Sherry Coon of Akron; Tamela Collins of Newton; Angela Coon of Parkersburg and Sarah Elbon of Spencer. He is also survived by two brothers, Harrison Coon of Spencer and James Coon of Akron. Rev. Tim Bess will officiate the service with burial in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation two hours prior to service.
