KELLY ARRESTED IN DEATH OF SPENCER MAN

Daniel Kelly, 22, has been arrested in connection with the beating death of Jason Coon, 26, of Spencer. He is being charged with murder and is being held in the Central Regional Jail. Coon "quit breathing" after an altercation at the Crichfield Trailer Court on Steele Hollow Road about 2 p.m. Tuesday and was rushed to Roane General where he was pronounced dead. Coon and Kelley had been long-time acquaintances, according to family members. The body has been taken to the State Medical Examiners office. Early reports indicate Coon died of head trauma "inflicted by fists." Coon had been living in Ohio and Kelly had been living and working in Parkersburg.
