Russell M. Raines, 94 - Chagrin Falls, OH formerly of Walton

Russell M. Raines, 94, of Chagrin Falls, OH, formerly of Walton, died Monday, September 27, 2004, in Geauga Community Hospital, Claridon, OH.

He was born June 15, 1910, on Big Creek, near Walton, a son of the late W. Edward and Myrtle Pence Raines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Taylor Raines; four sons, Garlen, Garvin, Harley and Estil Raines; four brothers and four sisters.

Mr. Raines was a retired farmer, who farmed until 1995. He was an Advent Christian.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and June Raines of Chagrin Falls, OH, Harold and Kitty Raines of Ravenswood and Guy and Iris Raines of DeGraff, OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline Korcykoski of Chagrin Falls, OH, Madeline and Robert Barrett of Cross Lanes, Maxine and Mike Burger of Utica, PA, Beverly and Eugene Winter of Dunbar and Nancy and Dennis Kruger of Akron, OH; brother, Ross Raines of Beaver Falls, OH; 31 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted Friday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Canterbury Cemetery, Walton. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, Sept. 30 from 6-8 p.m.
