Mona M. Sampson, 73 - Grantsville

Mona M. Sampson, 73, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away September 26, 2004 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville.

Born at Cremo, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Rosie Chedester Edgell. She was a former employee of the Calhoun County Board of Education as a cook and had been a caregiver for over 100 children in her lifetime. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Grantsville.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Dye and her husband Terry of Big Springs; 2 grandchildren, Tara Dye of Bradford, VA and Amanda Richards and her husband Charlie of Grantsville; 4 grandchildren, Kyler and Mason Propst, Alexa and Brogan Richards, all of Grantsville; 3 sisters, Irene Husk of Grantsville, Emodee Starcher and her husband Bruce of Madison, and Betty Smith and her husband Dale of Hur; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Leon Sampson and three brothers, Lora Veon Edgell, Jennings Edgell and Donald Lee Edgell>

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 29 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Mike Worf will officiate. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Grantsville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
