PARKERSBURG TRAVELERS TAKE NOTE - Route 5 Remains Closed

(09/20/2004)
NOTICE TO PARKERSBURG TRAVELERS

Route 5 - four miles east of Elizabeth remains closed today.

The "hole in the road" has happened because an old stone culvert is in a state of collapse.

Calhoun residents should detour to Rt. 47 into Parkersburg, either by Munday Road to Brohard and Mcfarlan or Rt. 16 to Smithville.

Repair efforts slowed down because of rainfall from Hurricane Ivan.

Wirt Schools could not be reached regarding school bus transportation. Students from the Creston end of the county were given excuses from school last week.
