OHIO RIVER ON MIGHTY RAMPAGE

(09/18/2004)
Under sunny, hopeful skies - the Ohio River basin is experiencing a record flood.

While Central WV was spared, Ohio River towns say Ivan the Terrible's five inches of rainfall is contributing to flooding that may be the worst in 40 years.

Marietta, Ohio is being devestated.

Belpre, Ohio is a mess.

A 43 feet crest at Parkersburg on Sunday is making this weekend's flooding the worst since March 1964.

Parkersburg's historic floodwalls are closed for the first time in years, sparing the city of millions of dollars of damage.

Sections around Parkersburg are flooded, including areas adjacent to the mouth of the Little Kanawha River.
