DRUG CASES PLEA BARGAINED - Circuit Court Hears Four Third Offense DUI's

Two former Grantsville residents facing drug charges in Calhoun Circuit Court entered plea agreements on May 3 before Judge Thomas Evans III. James Christman and Shelly Sue Burrows of Parkersburg, formerly of Grantsville, pled guilty to a charge of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), not less than fifteen grams, which is a misdemeanor, a lesser offense than possession with intent to deliver.

Numerous cases involved third offense DUI. Darius Anderson will return to court on May 11 for arraignment. William M. Robinson, Jr. had his DUI-3rd offense returned to magistrate court. Forrest C. Foster's DUI-3rd has been bound over to May 11 for arraignment. Also a 3rd offense DUI against Gary Goodrich will have Goodrich appearing on May 11 for a plea.

Scotty Knight appeared before the court regarding a motion to reduce bond on a burglary charge. Records indicate he will return to court on September 5 for return of indictments.

Melrath vs. Melrath was sent back to the Family Lawmaster.

There was no movement of a civil case Pierson vs. Krack, where Krack declined to pay the contractor claiming poor performance.

William Hays, who is currently being held in Wood County jail, was required to return to court here on June 25 regarding a worthless check of $1550.

Steven Summers pled to a lesser offense regarding petit larceny with the case moved back to magistrate court.
