DOG OR DOGGONE - Spencer Woman Sues WalMart

WalMart management in Spencer claims a woman had her dog in a shopping basket while shopping last July. Store manager Zach Shields confronted her about having the dog in the store, according to a lawsuit filed by Carol Copen in Kanawha County. The suit contends she did not have the dog in her basket. The personal injury suit was filed with Copen saying the manager threatened physical harm and called the Spencer Police Department to have her "forcibly removed" from the store. Copen, according to the suit, contends she was injured when she was removed from the establishment, with some of her injuries becoming permanent and some requiring medical treatment. She is accusing the manager of false imprisonment, assault, outrageous conduct, negligent training and retention. The mysterious dog was unavailable for comment.
