COMMISSION CREATES HISTORICAL COMMITTEE - Processes Budget Digest Items

The Calhoun Commission processed several items during a meeting conducted Monday. - Decision to have commission participate on the official board of the Little Kanawha Bus Company. - Commission appointed Bob Bonar, John Rose, Arthur Bell, Maggie Bennett and Neil Blankenship to be members of a newly created Historical Building Committee. - Moved ahead for acquiring Budget Digest funds for eight county agencies or groups. - Approved draw down from Small Cities Block Grant for payment on Back Fork/Yellow Creek water project. - Approved completed list for poll workers for General Election. - Accepted single bid of $100 for surplus 1993 Ford car. - Discussed Building Commission's recommendation for 99-year-lease to CCCOA for property adjacent Minnora Center for construction of a new senior center. Special meeting Friday at 9 a.m. for approval. - Robert and Shelia Caim's request to close old county road, decision next commission meeting. - Hired G. E. Watkins Company for recovery of excess phone payments. - Reviewed Sheriff's settlement 2003-04. - Paid invoices, bonds, bills, wills, settlements. Next monthly meeting is scheduled for October 4.
