Iva Sampson, 78, of Grantsville, West Virginia, passed away September 11, 2004 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Grantsville. Born in Calhoun County, she was a daughter of the late Dwight and Mary Parsons King. She was retired from Calhoun General Hospital with 13 years service. Surviving are 5 sons, Burton Sampson of Athens Alabama, Jimmy Sampson of Newberry, Ohio, Ford Sampson of Hagerstown, Maryland, Rick Sampson of Grantsville and James Sampson of Seattle, Washington; 3 daughters, Kathryn Truss of Grantsville, Shirley Cottrell of Warren, Ohio and Linda Vincent of Cortland, Ohio; 2 brothers, Delbert King of Orma and Westfall King of Big Bend; and 27 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles and a daughter, Betsy. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 14 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Rev. Kenneth Heiney will officiate. Interment will be in the Cottrell Cemetery on Frozen Run near Orma. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
