300 MORE JOBS LEAVE WOOD COUNTY

(09/09/2004)
Walker Systems of Wood County will be shutting down early next year with more than 300 employees losing their jobs.

The Walker-Wiremold Company, owned by a French-based conglomerate, will likely shift the operations abroad. The company said it plans to consolidate its operations to reduce costs.

The Williamstown facility manufactures wire and cable distribution systems.

Wiremold has operations in nearly 60 countries and has approximately 26,000 employees worldwide.
