She was a daughter of the late Herman and Lillie Price Bowers. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church.

Mrs. Shaffer was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Shaffer; two brothers, Roy and Ray Bowers; and one sister, Nettie Hall.

She is survived by one son, Archie Shaffer of Walker.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2004 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
