It was a big bash in the deep woods of Bear Fork Saturday, with a number of bands performing at the Second Annual Bear Fork Bluegrass Festival.

Johnny Staats was one of the groups entertaining about two-hundred and fifty folks who drove down the much improved road to the pavilion for a day's worth of entertainment.

The Bear Fork Hunting Club dates back to the late 1800s, where local residents actually camped and hunted in the wilderness area a week at a time, setting up a store, barber shop and sleeping tents. (See "Tales of Bear Fork" under People, Humor and History)

Other bands performing at the event were, Spirits of Bluegrass, Muddy River Band, Connie & The McCumbers Brothers, Break Mountain, Denny Dobbins Band and the Bear Fork Band.
