Roger Allen Reed, 62 - Spencer

Roger Allen Reed, 62, of Spencer, died Friday, August 27, 2004, in the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after an extended illness.

He was born July 13, 1942, in Spencer a son of Ruth Litton Reed Lowther of Vienna and the late Cyrus Reed. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Dean Reed and William Robert Lowther.

Roger was an employee of the former Kellwood Company, Spencer. He was a 1961 graduate of Spencer High School and a former member of the West Virginia Army National Guard.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Carolyn Brannon Reed, whom he married March 12, 1965; two sons, Kevin Michael Reed of Ripley and Timothy Allen Reed, with the USAF, Goldsboro, NC; stepfather, William Ireland Lowther of Vienna; brother, Jeffery Ireland Lowther of Des Plaines, IL; sister, Linda Sue Dotson of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Christopher Michael Reed of Ripley and Tabatha Nicole Reed of Spencer.

A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, August 30.
