WIRT OFFICIALS FIND 400 POT PLANTS

(08/25/2004)
It's the season to eradicate pot and catch the pot growers.

Wirt County authorities have already cut 400 plants on the former Westvaco land, premium growing space for the illegal plant.

Wirt County Sheriff Andy Cheuvront, along with State Police and the Wood County Narcotics Task Force found the plants in the Pine Twist and Flint Run area near the Ritchie County line.

The plants were growing in five separate patches.

The plants ranged in height from 8-10 feet.

They were located based on a tip given authorities.
