MCC BOARD WILL MEET FRIDAY - Objections Expressed Over Location

(05/01/2001)
The official board meeting of the Minnora Community Center will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Jessie Hicks house on Walker road, according to President Wanda Richards. Richards said the meeting was originally scheduled at Rose Jarvis' residence, "But it would be more convenient near the main road."

Board member Larry Cottrell said "Five board members are objecting to meetings being held at private residences." There are ten members on the board, with one board seat still in dispute.

Cottrell said about 45 people attended the last meeting at the center and he was concerned about seating in the residence.

Richards said everyone is welcome. "There will be plenty of seating," she said. The Hicks house is the second house up Walker Road. She said the center's ramp dinner made $1160.00.
