Sixteen schools across the Mountain State were recognized yesterday for
earning West Virginia Schools of Excellence honors.
Reedy Elementary School in Roane County is one of the selected schools.
Since 1991, Schools of Excellence have been recognized on an annual basis.
Among points taken into account are test scores, attendance rate above 93
percent, and dropout rate below 6 percent.
The process also includes comprehensive applications and site inspections by
state Department of Education officials.
