ARNOLDSBURG RD. HOUSE BURNS - WVU Extension Office Burns In Jackson

Fire completely destroyed a family dwelling yesterday afternoon on Arnoldsburg Road, U. S. 33-119 east of Spencer.

The house, located near the former Ottice Brannon Store, was engulfed when the Spencer-Roane VFD arrived.

No cause for the fire was given.

The Jackson County offices of the West Virginia University Extension Service and the state Division of Forestry are being called a total loss after a fire yesterday afternoon.

The fire started around 2 p.m. in the heating and air conditioning unit on the roof of the building located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

The Cottageville VFD responded, plus firefighters from five other departments.

A Clay County structure burned to the ground near the Glen Post Office on State Rt. 4 last night.
